The new Questo II is a highly performant aero frame constructed from unified carbon fibre - our LAF Technology - which is half the weight and much stronger than carbon weave construction. This makes this frame into a bike which is highly performant and developed to be faster and more efficient in all road conditions.
The aero seat post, dominant bottom bracket area and broad head tube configuration has resulted in a phenomenally stiff frame. Combining this with rigid, deep-dish carbon wheels means that the bike offers highly efficient climbing, fast acceleration and very precise handling.

All of our bikes are individually custom painted for a perfect deep gloss lacquer finish, which can also be designed to be totally unique, so that you can stand out from your friends and competitors.
We determine frame and component sizing to ensure perfect fit by defining your anatomy with 6 body measurements. We will compute the optimal geometry of your bike for the riding style required using specialized software tools using technology from our partners SizeMyBike. Two bike fittings are typical: comfort and performance. The seat tube length and the top tube length enable us to select the right frame size. The saddle height, saddle setback and crank length are tuned to optimise power and efficiency. Stem height and stem length optimise comfort and aerodynamics.
We also offer a bike fit and cleat fit service that has been extremely successful. We do not use a jig, nor a computer or try to force you on to a bike that is not for you, we work alongside you to find the perfect fit for your cycling to make sure you are safe, comfortable and efficient, whether that be riding to work or racing nationally, everyone has his or her own need.
We take into account the following considerations when setting a position, handling, power application and efficiency, minimising aerodynamic drag and also comfort:
- Initial discussion of your cycling history, goals and positional problems
- Adjustment of saddle height and set-back
- Handlebar and stem position adjustment
- Brake lever position assessment/adjustment
- Cleat adjustment
- Pre and Post adjustment measurements taken
These sessions take around 2 hours and are delivered by British Cycling trained cycle coach and bike fit specialist Jon Bateman who ensures that all Azione riders can get the very best out of their investment, while also putting smiles on faces with his meticulous and caring approach which delivers measurable performance results.
Carbon Fibre Construction
Strength and durability of our frames are a priority. That’s why we now use unidirectional carbon fibre (UDF) to build all of our frames.
Unidirectional carbon fibre is the perfect material to build bike frames because it is twice as strong and twice as stiff as woven carbon fibre. This is because the weave of woven fabric crimps the fibres and they are constantly bent in an “S” shape to go over and under each other. When force is applied to a woven fabric, the fibres try to straighten out which reduces their strength and stiffness.
UD fibre lays flat and there is no flex when force is applied in a linear direction. The result of flat, straight, UD fibre is a stronger, stiffer bike. Also, because UD fibre is twice as stiff and twice as strong, you only need half the amount of material therefore the frames are lighter too.
In a bicycle frame, forces are applied in many directions and combined strength is critical. While that is clearly understood in frame junctions where fibres are positioned to support the principal stress direction, straight tubes aren't typically considered with fibres being laid linearly. Tortional rigidity is however heavily impacted along a tube's length, which is the reason why some of the UD fibres on our straight tubes are laid slightly out of line to the principle fibre direction - giving additional support against the twisting moments that hard pedalling and cornering generates. This is our Linear Asynchronous Fibre Technology (LAF Technology).
The bikes are assembled to customer specification in our facilities by trained bicycle technicians who are guided and monitored to NVQ Level lll Cytech Trainer and Assessor Standards.
The frames are tested to internationally recognised safety and test standard: Racing bicycles – Safety requirements and test methods – EN 14781:2005 (E). This European Standard has been developed in response to demand throughout Europe, and the aim has been to ensure that bicycles manufactured in compliance with it will be as safe as is practically possible.
The tests have been designed to ensure the strength and durability of individual parts as well as of the bicycle as a whole, demanding high quality throughout and consideration of safety aspects from the design stage onwards.
